So, I didn't love my pizza sauce. Mostly because I was using can tomato sauce and they always have the mysterious natual flavor ingredient. Which totally freaks me out. I mean that could be anything! So I decided to figure out a version with tomato paste which is just tomatoes as the ingredient.
Recipe:
6 oz. Can of Tomato Paste
1 1/4 C. Water
1/8 t. Black Pepper
1/4 t. Sea Salt
1/4 t. Garlic Powder
1/2 t. Oregano
1/2 t. Basil
2 t. Sugar (or honey, sucanat, etc.) OPTIONAL- Makes this a sweeter style sauce.
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan. Whisk together. Warm over medium heat until thickened. Whisk often.
